- Can you please tell me how to hold my hand in the bridge position?
- Laura
- One of the most overlooked fundamentals of the game is a solid bridge. The difference between a good player and a player and a mediocre player can often be traced to the bridge or their bridge. Nothing is of greater importance in billiard play. If the shot you are executing is to be accurate, your bridge must be natural, yet give firm guidance to the cue. Adapt the following formulas for your correct bridges. There are two basic bridges - an open bridge and a closed bridge.

- I am new pool player, can you tell me how to properly hold the cue?
- Jack
- To properly hold a cue you hold the cue lightly with thumb and first three fingers. When the cue is gripped properly, it should not touch the palm of your hand. It is very important to maintain a light grip on the cue at all times. Gripping the cue to tightly while stroking through the cue ball is a common mistake that must be corrected.
